Solar Power Summit

The SolarPower Summit is SolarPower Europe’s annual flagship event, which will bring together over 1500 industry representatives from all major energy players, as well as SMEs and a range of decision-makers from across the EU and beyond.

The event offers the latest solar insights to high-level political and business representatives concerning major strategic, political and market developments shaping the future of solar in Europe. The Summit is widely recognised as one of the year’s most important energy events in Brussels.

In December 2019, European Commission President-elect Ursula Von der Leyen proposed the European Green Deal as the EU’s flagship initiative, with the ambition to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. This year’s SolarPower Summit will focus on the contribution of solar-based solutions to achieving a fully decarbonised economy and explore the necessary political and regulatory milestones to turn this ambitious vision into reality – from the complete implementation of the Clean Energy for all Europeans Package, to a renewables-based Energy System Integration and Hydrogen Strategy, and robust European industrial policies for solar.

As we slowly recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, the SolarPower Summit arrives at a crucial time for the solar industry, and promises to take stock of the impact and remedies to ensure a truly green recovery in service of the objectives of the European Green Deal.

On the last day of the Summit, with the support of GET.invest – a European programme supported by the European Union, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Austria – we will bring together government and industry representatives from six African countries to present solar energy investment opportunities to European stakeholders in the context of post-COVID-19.
