Renewables are the backbone of the energy transition and a key climate solution – but countries across the world are only scratching the surface when it comes to harnessing their clean energy potential. Despite record breaking installation across many different renewable energy technologies, deployment needs to urgently accelerate over the next decade to keep the world on track to meet net zero. To make sure this happens before it is too late, the renewable energy industry is calling governments to raise ambitions and put in place a global renewables target.

Organised by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the Global Renewables Alliance (GRA), the Global Solar Council (GSC), and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), this high-level panel is a platform for governments, international institutions and industry to discuss the operationalization of the global target necessary for a 1.5C pathway. This event will facilitate a fruitful exchange between key stakeholders from different sectors like policy and regulatory framework, technology and finance to collaborate and accelerate the deployment of renewables across the world.

This event is open to the public, registration for CEM14 required if attending in person.
