We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Events & Operations Officer to support the smooth delivery of our annual programme of international events. This role combines hands-on event coordination with day-to-day operational support, helping ensure the organisation runs efficiently while delivering high-quality meetings, retreats, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.

You will be part of a passionate and growing international team, working collaboratively with colleagues and partners across a diverse global network. This position sits within our Operations team and reports to the Head of Operations, offering the opportunity to play an important role in supporting the organisation’s day-to-day activities and wider strategic initiatives.

About Global Solar Council

The Global Solar Council (GSC) is the voice of the world’s solar energy industry on the global stage, a non-profit body based in London and representing national, regional and international associations as well as leading solar sector corporations.

The GSC aims to enable solar energy to deliver on the promise of clean and distributed power, economic development and energy access.

About the role

This role requires strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine enjoyment of bringing people together. You will be highly organised and confident in taking responsibility for the end-to-end logistics, coordination and delivery of events, ensuring they run smoothly and creates positive experiences for attendees.

Key Responsibilities

Events & Meeting Coordination

  • Coordinate the planning and delivery of the GSC’s international and UK-based events, meetings, retreats, and conference engagement activities.
  • Manage venue sourcing, supplier coordination, catering, accommodation, transport, and event logistics.
  • Support attendee management, registrations, invitations, travel arrangements, and visa documentation where required.
  • Provide onsite operational support during events, including occasional international travel.
  • Track event invoices, contracts, and procurement processes.
  • Support post-event reporting, feedback collection, and continuous improvement processes.

Operations Support

  • Assist with the day-to-day running of organisational operations and administrative processes.
  • Help ensure organisational policies and operational procedures are followed consistently.
  • Support internal culture initiatives, team retreats, and staff engagement activities.
  • Contribute to improving operational processes and identifying efficiencies.
  • Provide flexible support across the organisation as priorities evolve.

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience coordinating events from planning through to delivery.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with strong attention to detail
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach, with the ability to anticipate and solve issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience coordinating logistics across multiple stakeholders and time zones.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online collaboration tools.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a non-profit, membership organisation, or international organisation.
  • Experience supporting international travel and visa coordination.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, procurement, or finance administration.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for working within an organisation that is inclusive and collaborative.

Salary ranges will be determined based on the employee’s location and local labour market conditions.
