John Nyawa

Policy Officer

John Nyawa is an economist and data-informed strategist dedicated to bridging the gap between rigorous economic theory and impactful market solutions. He has a keen interest in policy, climate finance, and sustainable energy deployment across emerging markets.

Most recently, John served as an Access to Capital Associate at the Africa Minigrid Developers Association (AMDA), where he focused on unlocking affordable, long-term patient capital for minigrid developers operatingacross Sub-Saharan Africa. His multi-disciplinary expertise spans macroeconomic policy, market research, financial modelling, and business intelligence. 

John holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and Statistics and is currently completing his Master of Arts in Economics. He remains deeply committed to fostering access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy for underserved communities worldwide. Additionally, John is passionate about mentoring emerging economists through the Economics Students Association of Kenya (KESA) to bridge the gap between academia and the market.
