Wangari Muchiri is CEO of RE.Think Energy and Advisor to the Global Solar Council. A renewable energy engineer, entrepreneur, and policy strategist with over 15 years of experience, she is one of Africa's leading voices in the clean energy transition.
Through RE.Think Energy, Wangari works at the intersection of policy, investment, and technology to accelerate renewable energy deployment across Africa, with a focus on project development, energy storage, smart grids, and local clean energy value chains.
Previously, as Africa Director at the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and the Global Renewables Alliance, she led Africa Wind Power, helping to double Africa's installed wind capacity through policy advocacy, investor engagement, and market development across more than 15 countries.
Wangari also serves on the Board of the Nigeria Wind Energy Council and is a member of CEET, contributing to the UN Secretary-General's initiative for an accelerated and equitable global energy transition. She is a frequent speaker at leading international energy and climate forums and holds engineering degrees from the University of New South Wales and the University of Technology Sydney, as well as an Executive MBA from the University of Oxford.
