Bahareh Seyedi

Senior Sustainable Development Officer

Ms. Bahareh Seyedi is currently a Senior Sustainable Development Officer in United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA). Over the past 15 years, Ms. Seyedi has advised governments, UN entities, private sector, and civil society organizations on sustainable energy and climate related issues, including policy and programming design and implementation in Africa, Central America, Arab States, and Asia Pacific. She has also served the Executive Office of the UN Secretary General in the run up to the 2019 UN Climate Summit, providing policy advisory services to UN’s most senior officials on energy and climate change. Prior to her functions at the UN, Bahareh worked as a project manager and research associate in a number of engineering consulting firms. A Canadian of Iranian origin, Ms. Seyedi holds a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill University in Canada, and post-graduate degree in Climate Change Science and Sustainable Development from De Montford University in the UK.
