Dinesh Dhamija
CEO - Ruserio Solar
After serving as a Member of the European Parliament until the UK's departure from the EU in February 2020, Dinesh Dhamija used the subsequent lockdown as an opportunity to begin writing his memoirs and launch new business ventures.
He is currently promoting two large-scale solar farms near Bucharest, Romania, with capacities of 270 MW and 350 MW, spanning approximately 1,200 acres. Through his platform www.ruseriosolar.com, he is also exploring the integration of green hydrogen and battery storage alongside these projects.
Before entering politics, Dhamija was a pioneering entrepreneur and active leader in the charitable sector. He founded and served as CEO of ebookers.com, one of Europe’s most successful early online travel companies — a venture that began from a humble 80 sq ft kiosk in Earls Court Tube station.
In addition to his business pursuits, Dinesh Dhamija is a committed philanthropist. He is a donor and trustee of several charities, including TiE, a global network supporting entrepreneurship, where he previously served as Vice Chair of the Global Board based in Silicon Valley. He is also the founder of Shiksha, which provides education to over 1,200 disadvantaged children in India, and Chikitsa, which offers free medical care to more than 120,000 people through 15 clinics.
