Abdallah Alshamali

Abdallah is a renewable energy professional and climate activist, with a personal mission to advocate for a just energy transition. His background in electrical engineering in addition to his diverse experience enables him to tackle solar energy markets and policy in a holistic approach. Abdallah started his career building large-scale solar PV projects in Jordan, but after realizing the challenges of implementing renewable energy he shifted his focus towards advocacy. To pursue that he worked with the Jordanian renewable energy trade association analyzing policy and market trends and supporting campaigns. Then he expanded his reach internationally by joining organizations like the intergovernmental Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency and the German political foundation Friedrich-Ebert Stiftung where he implemented many projects to help governments, industry, and other stakeholders to accelerate the transition to 100% renewable energy. Abdallah continues to support the scale-up of renewable energy especially solar as a Policy and Market Analyst with the Global Solar Council (GSC).
