Software Engineer

Cai is an energy systems modeller who has gained a wide breadth of experience working all the way from molecules to systems. Earning a PhD in Engineering from Durham University, examining through modelling how photovoltaics may be developed and tailored for the energy transition. Followed by a research associate position in Germany, accelerating the assessment of novel photovoltaic devices through machine learning. He is currently developing the GSC's modelling capabilities to enhance the understanding of policy, driving the furthering of solar and energy storage globally. Based in the United Kingdom, he is fluent in both English and Welsh.
