Statement on UK Parliament supply chains and forced labour report

Reacting to a UK Parliament report into supply chains and forced labour, which covers solar PV as well as other sectors, Sonia Dunlop, CEO of Global Solar Council, said:

"We as Global Solar Council, the global solar PV industry association, have for the last years been working with the Solar Stewardship Initiative and our members to support an independent, solar-specific due diligence and traceability mechanism that deals with allegations of forced labour in the supply chain. We are encouraging governments and other stakeholders all over the world to support these efforts to ensure that the SSI, a multistakeholder initiative with NGOs, continues to be the go-to mechanism for addressing this issue."
