Shubhang Parekh

Head of South Asia - Policy, Projects, and Partnerships

Shubhang Parekh is the Head of South Asia – Policy, Projects, and Partnerships at the Global Solar Council, where he leads GSC’s work across the region, focusing on policy, strategic projects, and international partnerships to accelerate the clean energy transition.

Shubhang brings over a decade of experience at the intersection of renewable energy, international relations, and climate diplomacy. He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and has built his career across economics, political science, and the solar sector.

Before joining GSC, Shubhang worked within India’s leading sustainable energy ecosystem, where he managed high-level bilateral projects, developed international B2B and G2B relationships, and led policy advocacy supporting green industrial development. His work has focused on strengthening cross-border cooperation and advancing the role of solar energy in the global energy transition.

Shubhang is a recognised thought leader in the global solar landscape and has contributed to international platforms including IRENA, the Global Solar Council, Intersolar Europe, and the Indo-German Energy Forum. He has co-authored SolarPower Europe’s Global Market Outlook (2023 & 2024) and authored the report PV Supply Chain Resilience & Sustainability: India-EU Cooperation.
