Darío Morales

Executive Director, Chilean Association of Solar Energy (ACESOL)

Darío Morales is an Electrical Engineer from the University of Concepción, Chile; he holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Paris XI in France and a master’s degree in management and Technological Entrepreneurship from the University Adolfo Ibáñez in Chile.

Morales boasts 20 years of experience in the energy industry, having worked in both the public and private sectors. In the private sector, he served as the Head of the Studies Department at Distribuidora Sociedad Austral de Electricidad and as the Head of Solar Energy Projects at Acciona Energía Chile. In these roles, he contributed to analyzing various business models and managed large-scale investment projects, particularly in the realm of renewable energies.

On the public sector side, he held positions as a Senior Energy Advisor and Technology Transfer Deputy Director at the Chilean Innovation Agency (InnovaChile) and Director of Technological Centers at the Chilean Economic Development Agency (Corfo). Notably, he played a key role in attracting International Centers of Excellence in Applied R&D to Chile.

Additionally, Morales served as President of the Committee for the Allocation of the R&D Tax Credit Law, representing Corfo on the Renewable Energy Center (CER) Board of Directors. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the Solar Energy Innovation Program and the Industrial Advisory Board of the Fraunhofer Center for Solar Energy (CSET) in Chile.

Furthermore, he held the position of Director of Studies at the Chilean Association of Renewable Energies and Storage (ACERA A.G.), and presently, he serves as the Executive Director of the Chilean Association of Solar Energy (ACESOL A.G.).
