How is the global industry faring one year after the Coronavirus wake-up call?

We will all remember 2020 as the year of the Covid-19 pandemic, of entire countries in lockdown and the associated economic and social dislocation. For the global PV industry, it also marked a dramatic turning point in terms of public, political and institutional attitudes to clean energy as the mantras of “building back better” and a “green new deal” raised a clear message about the urgency of investing in renewables as part of post-pandemic recovery plans.

One year after our survey of solar business sentiment in the midst of the first wave of the pandemic, the Global Solar Council is reaching out again to its members and all businesses in the solar energy value chain to hear their experience and expectations.

Here are some of the questions we have for you:

  • How optimistic are companies operating in the solar PV industry globally?
  • Is the new awareness about a green recovery being translated into reality?
  • Are governments ambitious enough about the transition to renewable energy sources?
  • What policy measures will boost the growth of solar investments and help us move rapidly towards a clean energy future?

The Global Solar Council is inviting you to take part in this short survey to help answer these questions. The findings will be published in May and discussed in a webinar with industry representatives and international experts on May 6th.
